This comic, which skipped issues 1 though 8, started at # 9 and clamed to depict true crime cases, many of the stories were framed by a demonic narrator who gave a brief intro and returned for a few snarky comments at the end, much like the later horror hosts at EC comics. He also showed up from time to time on the cover goading the criminals on. Two issues of Wanted Comics were used as examples in the book Seduction of the Innocent by Fredric Wertham that almost closed down the comic industry in the early 50’s. While published by Rural Home Publications, the covers claimed that the comic was published by Wanted Comics just as the other four comics the company published all claimed that each was published by a company that happened to share the title of the comics such as Taffy Comics or Toytown Comics. Considering how much trouble Wanted Comics got them in it’s understandable why they might want to remain anonymous. This comic however is of note in that it is one of the first comics to feature the early artwork of John Buscema.
