One of two ashcans (the other being Flash Comics #1) released by Fawcett to secure the rights to the name of the comic as well as the name of the protagonist, Captain Thunder. It failed on all accounts (due to just barely being beaten to the punch by Flash Comics , Thrilling Comics and Captain "Terry" Thunder ...coincidentally all entities owned by different publishers) and the series became Whiz Comics while the character became Captain Marvel .
