Sul Oetama

Sul Oetama is a 22-year-old emerging writer and director with a background in Urban Planning. After completing an intensive six-month filmmaking program at Citra Film School in 2025, he began pursuing cinema as a way to explore the emotions, relationships, and experiences that shape everyday life. Inspired by observing people and communities, his work focuses on human-centered stories that foster empathy and connection.

His interest in filmmaking is closely tied to his belief that art, culture, and community are deeply interconnected. Through cinema, he seeks to understand how people think and feel while creating stories that resonate across different backgrounds.

"Our Mini Research" is Sul’s directorial debut and first film project. He hopes the film will introduce his voice as a filmmaker while opening new opportunities for its cast and crew. Looking ahead, he aspires to build an international career as a writer-director, compete at major film festivals, and one day earn recognition at the Academy Awards.
