2014년 4월 HBO에서 방영을 시작한 시트콤. 하이테크의 본거지 실리콘 밸리, 이곳에 사는 IT 청년들이 벤처 기업을 창업하면서 겪는 각종 해프닝들을 그린다. 코딩만 할 줄 알던 소심한 프로그래머인 리처드 헨드릭스가 개발한 압축 알고리즘이 투자자들로부터 주목을 받는다. 거대 IT 기업의 CEO인 개빈 벨슨과 벤처 투자 회사 라비가 캐피털의 피터 그레고리는 리처드에게 거액의 투자금을 제안한다. 개빈은 리처드의 알고리즘을 사고 싶다고 제안하고, 피터는 스타트업을 할 수 있도록 투자를 해주겠다고 한다. 결국 스타트업을 하기로 결심한 리처드는 피터의 손을 잡게 되고, 그때부터 개빈과 앙숙 관계가 시작되는데...
