Een onzin-komisch mysterie. Kazuhito Harumi is een middelbare scholier die van boeken houdt en een fan is van romanschrijver Kirihime Natsuno. Op een dag vindt hij Kirihime aan het schrijven in een café, op het punt te worden neergeschoten door een overvaller. Hij beschermt haar tegen de aanval, maar wordt in plaats daarvan gedood. Door de bovennatuurlijke kracht van een boekenwurm wordt hij gereïncarneerd als een teckelhond. Kazuhito (als hond) kronkelt in een pijnlijk boekloos leven, wanneer een sadistische vrouw met een schaar hem hulp biedt. Ze is Kirihime zelf.
